Tests & Scoring
How do I start a mock test?
Go to the Tests page, choose an exam category, and click any test to begin. You can filter by subject, difficulty, or test type. No login is required to start, but logging in saves your progress and score history.
What's the difference between timed and practice mode?
Timed mode simulates actual exam conditions with a countdown timer and negative marking (where applicable). Practice mode lets you take your time, see explanations after each answer, and is great for learning new topics.
How are scores calculated?
For each correct answer, you earn the marks specified for that test (usually +1 or +2). For negative marking tests, wrong answers deduct a fraction (usually −1/3). Unattempted questions score 0. Your final score and percentile are shown on the results page.
Does every test have negative marking?
No. Negative marking is only applied for exams that officially have it (e.g. GATE, UPSC Prelims). SSC, RRB, IBPS tests on our platform follow each exam's official scheme. The marking scheme is displayed before each test starts.
Can I pause and resume a test?
Yes. If you leave a test mid-way, your progress is saved (if you're logged in). The timer continues in timed mode, but in practice mode you can return anytime within 7 days.

Streaks, XP & Gamification
How do streaks work?
A streak counts consecutive days on which you attempt at least one test or answer at least 10 questions. Miss a day and your streak resets to 0. Streaks unlock milestone badges at 7, 30, 50, 100, and 365 days.
What is XP and how do I earn it?
XP (Experience Points) is our virtual currency. You earn XP by: completing tests (+10–50 XP), daily login (+5 XP), maintaining streaks (bonus XP on milestones), referring friends (+100 XP per referral), and contributing in discussions (+2 XP per upvote received).
What are milestone badges?
Badges are permanent awards for reaching streak milestones: 🔥 Week Warrior (7 days), 📅 Month Master (30 days), 💪 Dedicated (50 days), 🏆 Century (100 days), 🌟 Legendary (365 days). Badges appear on your profile.
What is a streak freeze?
A streak freeze protects your streak for one day when you can't practice. It costs 50 XP and can be activated from your profile or the streak widget. You can have up to 2 freezes active at a time.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
The leaderboard ranks users by total XP earned (all-time). Weekly and monthly leaderboards rank by XP earned within those periods. Your rank updates in real-time after each test submission.
