Muhi-ud-Din Muhammad, commonly known as Aurangzeb, was the sixth Mughal emperor who ruled for a period of nearly 49 years. He died on March 3, 1707, at Ahmednagar at the age of 88, which marked the beginning of the decline of the Mughal Empire.
