Lymph is essentially blood plasma that has filtered out of capillaries into interstitial spaces. It lacks red blood cells ($\text{RBCs}$) and large plasma proteins, but it contains a higher concentration of white blood cells ($\text{WBCs}$), especially lymphocytes.
