Abul Fazl documents the prominent court painters of Akbar's reign (such as Farrukh Beg, Mushkin, Mukund, Daswanth, and Basawan) in the Ain-i-Akbari. Ustad Mansur, however, rose to fame later during the reign of Emperor Jahangir and is celebrated for his exquisite depictions of plants and animals.
