Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil was a prominent revolutionary leader of the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA). He was the primary mastermind behind the Kakori Train Action (historically termed the Kakori Conspiracy Case) on August 9, 1925, where a British train carrying treasury money was looted near Kakori, Lucknow. He was subsequently executed by hanging by the colonial government in 1927.
