What was meant by 'Kherwari Hul'?

'Kherwari Hul' is the historical term used locally by the Santhal tribe to describe the Santhal Rebellion (or Santhal Uprising) of 1855–1856. Led by figures like Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu, this major tribal revolt in present-day Jharkhand erupted against the oppressive tax collection policies of the British East India Company and exploitation by local zamindars and moneylenders.
