Article 158 of the Constitution of India specifies the conditions of the Governor's office.
Specifically, Article 158 (3A) states that where the same person is appointed as Governor of two or more States, the emoluments and allowances payable to the Governor shall be allocated among those States in such proportion as the President may by order determine. This provision was added via the 7th Constitutional Amendment Act of 1956.
