The Ain-i-Dahsala (or Dahsala System) was a land revenue settlement system introduced in $1580\text{A.D.}$ under the Mughal Emperor Akbar. It was developed by his brilliant finance minister, Raja Todar Mal, and based tax calculations on the average crop yield and prices over the preceding ten ($10$) years.
