Ikhtiyar uddin Muhammad bin Bakhtiyar Khilji, a military commander under Qutb-ud-din Aibak, launched an invasion and conquered parts of Bengal and Bihar at the beginning of the 13th century (circa 1203–1204 CE), displacing the Sena ruler Lakshmana Sena.
