Who discovered Oxygen?

Oxygen (${\text{O}}_2$) was discovered independently by Carl Wilhelm Scheele in 1772 and Joseph Priestley in 1774. Priestley is historically credited with publishing his findings first in 1774, calling the gas "dephlogisticated air."
