Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow.
The enthusiasm to own Electric Vehicles (EV) is increasing among the people. Though it costs 40-45% higher than usual fuel vehicles, saving on petrol and diesel and contributing to saving our mother earth are rational reasons to buy it. Some companies already have started selling EVs. Well reputed Tata Motors is in the first row with its Nexon EV release. Hundreds of start-ups have already started selling electric two-wheelers. The customers need to know that there are certain grave issues to be understood. The principal one is the lack of charging and maintenance infrastructure. Those who have independent houses have the facility of installing a charging setup but in apartments, it is a real challenge. There have been some recent fire incidents in EV bikes' batteries. The minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari warned the companies to recall faulty vehicles. Another serious challenge is that when there are many EVs, can the governments provide sufficient electricity? Now power cuts are everywhere as there is not much coal availability. What and how it will be in the future is a serious question to be answered. It is good to imagine that the roads of India are full of electric vehicles and no more noise and no more thick smoke from the vehicles. It is also estimated that in two or three years as the price comes down and present issues with EVs are addressed we will see many such vehicles on our roads.

Read the given passage and answer the question that follows.
Judicial activism in India has been a topic of great significance and debate. The judiciary, particularly the Supreme Court, has played a proactive role in shaping and interpreting laws to ensure justice and protect fundamental rights. Through landmark judgements, the court has expanded the scope of constitutional principles and acted as a check on the executive and legislative branches. However, this activism has sparked discussions about the limits of judicial power and the need to strike a balance between activism and restraint. Critics argue that excessive judicial intervention can encroach upon the domain of the other branches, while proponents see it as a necessary tool to safeguard democracy, uphold constitutional values and advance social justice. The evolution of judicial activism continues to influence the dynamics of governance in India.

Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow.
Superstitions are a universal phenomenon having their own peculiar place in the cultural ethos and milieu of a people. They epitomise man's fear of the unknown, fear of evil, blind faith in omens and portents. Superstitions are interwoven with myth, legend, unnatural phenomena and disaster, customs and traditions, and are mainly the outcome of ignorance. They are unreasonable and irrational beliefs that gradually become matters of faith. When certain things and happenings are rationally inexplicable, people tend to assign mysterious and supernatural reasons for their operation. Thus, a natural disaster is explained in terms of God's wrath and the failure of one's project is assigned to the black cat which crossed the path just as one set out on the errand.

The primitive human beings were mainly governed by superstitions. Superstitions were widespread before the dawn of civilisation when science had not advanced. Thus, ignorance of the primitive people and the resultant growth of superstitions were the direct outcomes of the lack of scientific advancement. Unenlightened people always tend to be superstitious. The belief in the sanctity of time and old traditions of the ancestors bind the people into knots of superstitious thought. Besides, the unscrupulous priests and religious officials exercise a dominating, unhealthy effect upon the people believing in religious orthodoxy. They encourage superstitions for their own ulterior motives. Superstitions are not only universally prevalent but even have strikingly common features whether believed in India or in as far off a place as Canada. There are some common superstitions which are shared by people all over the world. Beliefs in spirits, ghosts and witches and reincarnation are quite common among all the peoples of the world. Belief in witches still prevails in India, France, Scotland, England, and many other countries. In countries of the East, especially in India, belief in ghosts and spirits still exists. The cries of certain birds like owls and ravens and the howl of cats are regarded with superstition as portents of evil throughout the world. Then there is a very common belief that the sighting of comets portends the death of kings or great men or some unforeseen catastrophe. Shakespeare refers to such a superstition in his play/tragedy, Julius Caesar. Halley's Comet in the twentieth century evoked a similar response in many a mind.

What does the phrase 'religious orthodoxy' mean?

Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow.
Satyajit Ray's films are rich in sociological elements which portray themes like faulty social structures, childhood experiences, poverty-stricken India, rural life, complexities in relationships and politics, religion, gender and on. Films like Devi or The Goddess and Mahapurush or The Godman show how religion becomes a breeding ground of superstitions and how the blind faith of people in ‘Godmen’, without analysing the reality, leave people trapped in the end. In Pather Panchali or Song of the Road, Ray shows how Apu and Durga enjoy their childhood despite their poverty. The innocence and mirth of childhood offers a sharp contrast with the disconsolate faces of other adults in the family who are affected by the present harsh situations. A critique of autocracy is found in his film Hirak Rajar Deshe or In the Country of the Diamond King which is an overall political satire. Although Satyajit Ray's films are deeply rooted in Bengali culture, they have a universal significance, and much of it is perhaps because his film making is heavily inspired by neo-realist principles.

According to the passage, how has Mahapurush been translated?

Shikshayatan – a school started in 1994 at Arasavanankadu, a village near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, with just 15 children by Mr. Raghavan, a chartered accountant, and his wife Aruna, an M.Phil in English – sets a model for both teachers and learners. The teachers here believe that learning is a form of play. They prove that learning can be made interesting and enjoyable. Most of the teaching material are produced by the teachers, who customise their teaching aids to suit their students’ needs and abilities. Health and nutrition of the children get priority. This ensures the children have the physical energy required for learning. Nutritional and medical supplements are provided to the needy. Free exercise and play are encouraged. Children learn spontaneously when their interest and curiosity are awakened. Teaching is confined to brief periods according to the natural attention span of each child, which is normally 15-30 minutes daily during the first two years. It is never extended beyond the child’s span of interest
